Sony today announced a pair of colorful, entry-level Android handsets which are expected to ship in the third quarter of the year.
Called the Xperia Miro and Xperia Tipo, the two devices should make for a decent first smartphone experience. Both run Ice Cream Sandwich, feature 800MHz processors, and come with Sony's custom software enhancements.
The Xperia Tipo falls on the lower end of the spectrum and provides users with a 3.2-inch display, 3.2-megapixel camera, and 3GB internal storage. Powered by a 1500mAh battery, the handset features the standard fare of connectivity options and microSD expansion. Sony will also release a dual-SIM version of the smartphone (Xperia Tipodual) and offering it in four color options: red, white, blue and black.
Higher up the ladder, the Xperia Miro comes with a slightly better set of specifications and additional Sony software and services.
