Genetic Engineering Artificial Intelligence

The biggest breakthrough in recent history imho, scientists have created a synthetic genome that can self-replicate! This is major! As many of you already know, I have been big on automation and artificial intelligence, so needless to say I have always been interested in science. Despite being a Christian, I do NOT see genetic engineering, or "playing god" as evil or bad. In fact I don't think we could ever really "play god". At best we can play "wanna-be god". We still can not create some thing from nothing, all we can do is RE-CREATE or MODIFY existing properties.

Any way moving forward I am very excited about the latest scientific break throughs regarding synthetic DNA and genetic engineering. There is no telling where this will end. Of course as in any new technology, it can be used for good and evil. The fact that it can be used for evil is NOT reason to be afraid of it or avoid it. If that was the case we might as well all move back in to caves and rely on cave paintings for communicating. There will always be positive and negative effects to every thing. The key is to keep moving FORWARD!
